The Real Christmas Story

Wishing you and your family a very blessed Christmas!

Something to think about…..

All time in Western Civilization is marked by this historical fact – God came to earth as a baby. The divine entered humanity. Never before or since has an event as unique and spectacular as Christmas happened.

A rescue mission from heaven began in the most unlikely of places – in a virgin in Bethlehem in a stable in a real moment in history. Known as the Incarnation, the Son of God became flesh and dwelt among us. But, He was not a normal birth through a man and a woman. His Seed came through the Holy Spirit of God who impregnated Mary nine months earlier. The Son of God became the Son of Man in order that the sons of men might become sons of God. Jesus was and is two natures in one new race, the firstborn of many brothers. Theologians call it the hypostatic union, human and divine perfection. This theology is missed or rejected by most, but for us who believe, this miracle is the reason we celebrate Christmas. Without the intervention of Christ to live and die on our behalf, we would have no hope for eternal life. We would die in our sins if our Savior did not come.

This Christmas, have you taken time to see the reality of God in human events? Jesus is not a myth, not a human invention like Santa Claus. No, He is our very Creator who made everything that exists. To think that the power of God who hung the stars in the universe including that star that led the magi to the King of kings was born weak and helpless and vulnerable to everything that mankind has experienced is staggering. As you meditate on Jesus this Christmas, consider the verse below from Colossians 1:16. He is your Creator, your Savior and your Reason for life itself. Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved (Romans 10:9). God loves you so much much that He sent His Son so that whoever believes would not perish but have eternal life
(John 3:16). Before Christ (BC), life was finite but after Christ (AD), we are now able to enter the infinite. Christmas gives us the opportunity to receive the only Gift that counts,
that’s The Real Christmas Story.

For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible,
whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities;
all things have been created through him and for him.

    15 The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. 17 He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. 19 For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, 20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross. Colossians 1
    To amplify the above passage of Scripture. One of my favorites in all the Bible.
